Bitesize Prediction: Watford vs Norwich City – 21/01/22

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @

In what is a real relegation six-pointer this weekend, Watford will welcome Norwich to Vicarage Road on Friday night in what could be a nervy affair.

Starting with the hosts, managing to snatch a last-gasp point away at fellow relegation scrappers Newcastle last weekend, there is no doubt that Watford will be desperate to build off of that 1-1. However, while the Hornets still find themselves sat outside of the bottom-three, the pressure remains firmly on Claudio Ranieri s shoulders at Vicarage Road. Struggling to find much stability since bringing in the one-time Leicester boss, the Londoners are still in the midst of a hugely worrying eight-match winless run. Losing seven of those contests across all formats and crashing out…

Liverpool would consider a player-plus-cash deal for Suarez

Liverpool would be interested in receiving a player-plus-cash offer from Real Madrid for Luis Suarez,.

The proposed deal could see Karim Benzema arrive at Anfield, with the France international likely to fall down the pecking order at the Bernabeu should Suarez move to the La Liga giants.

Benzema started just half of Real’s games in the Spanish top flight last season, though he did manage twenty-one goals in all competitions.

He won league titles in his first four seasons with Lyon in Ligue 1, before securing a move to Madrid in 2009, while internationally he has scored fifteen goals in fifty-eight appearances for Les Bleus.

Arsenal are favourites to secure Suarez’s services, though Liverpool are adamant that their star player will remain at An…

Perisic: Liverpool and Chelsea should talk to Inter

Inter star Ivan Perisic has told the likes of Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea to table any interest with his club.

Liverpool and Chelsea are both reportedly interested in the 27-year-old winger, who only joined Inter in August last year.

The Croatia international said it was an honour to play for Inter and deflected questions about his future by insisting he was happy to stay with Roberto Mancini s side.

However, Perisic did suggest that Inter was a stop in his career as opposed to the final destination during a question-and-answer session for the club s official site.

Inter is a big step in my career. They re a big club and I ll do my best to perform well here, he said.

I really like Italy and Inter. When I was a kid I used to watch…

Hoeness blasts ´ridiculous´ Magath methods

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has warned Fulham s players of the ridiculous training methods employed by new manager Felix Magath.

Magath led Bayern to successive Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal doubles in his two full seasons in charge of the club in 2004-05 and 2005-06, but was sacked in January 2007 after a poor start to his third campaign in Bavaria.

The 60-year-old went on to win a third German top-flight crown as Wolfsburg manager in 2008-09, as well as enjoying a stint at Schalke before returning to the Volkswagen Arena.

He had been out of work since leaving Wolfsburg by mutual consent in October 2012, but Fulham announced on Friday that the German had taken over at Craven Cottage.

That represents Magath s first managerial position outside of Germany, and H…

Mexico v Uruguay: Osorio´s men the in-form team heading into the Copa

Mexico head into their Copa America Centenario opener against Uruguay on Sunday with the best form of any nation competing in the special-edition tournament.

A late goal from Javier Hernandez gave Mexico a 1-0 victory over defending Copa champions Chile in their final warm-up game for the tournament.

The win extended Mexico s unbeaten run to an incredible 19 games, while their record under coach Juan Carlos Osorio is equally as impressive.

Since Osorio took over from Miguel Herrera in October, Mexico have won eight games in a row, without conceding a single goal in the process.

The form leaves the Central American nation who have finished Copa runners-up on two occasions (1993 and 2001) confident of going all the way.

We arrive [at the to…

Premier League: Fulham 1 Manchester United 3

Manchester United piled the pressure on Fulham boss Martin Jol as they cruised to a 3-1 win at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Speculation over Jol s future at the club has been rife following a poor start to the season that has seen them win only three games so far, leaving them in the bottom half of the Premier League.

Fulham have not tasted victory over United since 2009 and were behind early on as Antonio Valencia was handed the easy task of tapping in from close range after Wayne Rooney had cleverly sucked in goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Robin van Persie doubled the lead as he latched on to a ball from Januzaj before rifling in at the near post.

And a first-half rout was completed when Van Persie supplied Rooney for another simple finish as United made it 10…

Hughton: Time for a good run

Norwich City boss Chris Hughton has called on his players to build on their West Ham win when they travel to St James Park on Saturday.

Norwich climbed out of the Premier League s relegation zone by coming from behind to win 3-1 against West Ham before the international break.

That result ended a winless run of five matches in which they had shipped 18 goals and were embarrassed 7-0 by Manchester City and eased the pressure on Hughton.

And ahead of Saturday s trip to Newcastle United, Hughton is hopeful his side can now go on a winning run.

It was great to see the reaction to the Manchester City defeat against West Ham, said Hughton, who managed Newcastle from June 2009 to December 2010.

St James Park is a great place to go and play football. We have to go …

City now an established force – Hart

Joe Hart believes Premier League champions Manchester City have now established themselves as one of English football s superpowers.

City held off the challenge of Liverpool and Chelsea to land their second title in three seasons last term, scoring an incredible 102 goals in the process.

The Etihad Stadium club won their first top-flight crown in 44 years in 2012, and have now finished in the top two for three campaigns in a row.

Sheikh Mansour s takeover in 2008 heralded a new era at the club, with global stars such as Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and David Silva all being brought to Manchester since then.

And City s haul of two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup in the last three years is evidence enough for Hart that they are now among the coun…

Navas: I have same desire to leave Real Madrid as to die

Champions League-winning goalkeeper Keylor Navas is hell-bent on staying at Real Madrid despite the arrival of Thibaut Courtois.

Navas has helped Madrid to three successive European crowns but the Costa Rica international s future is in doubt after the Spanish giants agreed a deal with Chelsea for Courtois.

Belgian star Courtois will sign a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, however, Navas has no plans to leave Madrid.

Of course, and I say this with force, I have the same desire to leave than I have to die, Navas told the Onda Cero programme.

Navas moved to Madrid from Levante in 2014 – the LaLiga powerhouse triggering the 31-year-old s €10million buyout clause.

His future has always been speculated amid Madrid s pursuit of Manchest…
